Tish Rabe enjoys visiting schools and giving interactive presentations which have won rave reviews from teachers and school librarians across the USA. Named “The Singing Author” by her teacher fans, she travels to elementary schools for author visits to share her love of reading, writing and singing.
About Tish's Author Visits
Tish inspires students with a presentation (30 min. virtual, 45 min. in person) that reveals how she became a children's book author and how she writes her books. Trained as a professional singer, she also SINGS songs she wrote for Sesame Street and Disney. At the end of each presentation she leaves plenty of time for questions and leads the students in singing her Reading and Writing Song...

The Singing Author
Tish Rabe has been named by her teacher fans as "The Singing Author" because she SINGS during her presentations for students and parents alike. Trained as a professional singer, she has a Vocal Performance degree from Ithaca College School of Music with a major in Opera and a Minor in Jazz. She is the featured vocalist in her own band "Tish Rabe and Friends" which includes her husband John who plays bass and tenor banjo. Their band plays favorites from the American Songbook as well as contemporary country hits and jazz classics.
Ms. Rabe is available for school visits from September to June.
A laptop with USB drive. Ms. Rabe will provide a thumb drive with her PowerPoint presentation. She also needs a hand-held microphone (not a clip on). The presentations include Ms. Rabe singing to the students, so this is a MUST.
Book Signings and Order Forms
Time will be allocated to sign books for the students- a post-it with each child's name should be put on the page inside the book where Ms. Rabe's name appears as the author.
Speaker fees are based on the number of presentations, travel distance from NYC or Mystic, CT, and number of days for travel and living expenses.
A Visit Review
"Tish Rabe presented to the student at Niantic Elementary School in East Lyme Connecticut and our students in grades K- 4 were engaged throughout the whole assembly. A few teachers told me it was the best assembly we had all year. Ms. Rabe talked about the creative writing process and how she became one of a hand full of authors allowed to write for the Cat in the Hat Learning Library series. I highly recommend Tish Rabe for an assembly at other schools."
